Install and link your PC
Choose the Microsoft Store or the direct Windows installer on the download page. Open Pastefrog and complete sign-in, linking, and the permission prompts. Every plan requires an account.
Already using Pastefrog on your phone? Use that signed-in phone to scan the QR code on the PC. If your PC is your first device, sign in with Google or an email code and save the recovery key you receive. When you add a phone, your PC shows the code and the phone scans it.
Pastefrog saves and syncs nothing before sign-in and linking are complete. If you cannot use another linked device, the fallback is an email code and your recovery key. Keep that key separate from devices you could lose.

Recent clips
Send your first copy from Windows
- Copy a short note or link with the source app’s normal Copy command.
- Keep your PC and another linked device online.
- If the receiving device is a phone, open Pastefrog, inspect the received clip, and use Copy. Then focus a text field in the destination app and use Paste.
- Copy a different note on that device and paste it back on your PC.
A phone has different clipboard rules from a PC. After copying on a phone, open Pastefrog or use its keyboard so it can read the copy. Follow the iPhone and iPad or Android guide for the entry point you use.
Paste a received or saved clip
For the current copy, use the destination app’s normal Paste command. For an earlier copy in Pro history, select the clip in Pastefrog, use Copy, and return to the destination app to paste it.
Use the paste shortcut shown in Pastefrog when you want to insert a clip into the focused field. If no field is focused or it rejects the clip, Pastefrog puts the clip on your clipboard. Focus a field that accepts the content and paste there.
Test text in a text field, images in an app that accepts images, and files in a destination that accepts files. Seeing a clip in Pastefrog tells you it arrived. An app refusing that content is a separate issue from sync.

Find a previous copy with Pro
Free keeps the latest clip on 2 devices. Sync costs $10 once and allows 5 devices, with the same latest-only behavior. Each new copy replaces the previous current clip. There is no saved archive on either plan.
Pro costs $1.99 a month and includes 25 GB of encrypted history across 10 devices while active. Search the clip list using a word from an earlier copy, open the result, and copy it again. Search and image text recognition happen on the device.
A PC reconnecting on Free or Sync receives the current clip. A PC with Pro also receives every missed clip in history. Your latest clip stays separate from the history list. Learn more about saved history and offline devices.

Windows PC · YesterdayPin a clip you use often
Open the saved clip’s actions and choose Pin. The Pinned view gives you a shorter list of the addresses, links, and notes you keep returning to. Open a pinned clip and use Copy just as you would with another saved clip.
Pro includes pins and reusable text snippets. They are part of paid history and are removed when paid history ends. Export what you need before ending Pro. Export is available on every plan.
Check a missing copy in order
- Start at the source. Copy a new short note. Open Pastefrog after copying if the source is a phone.
- Check linked devices. Both devices must belong to the same account and be online. Check their last sent and received times in the devices list.
- Check Pastefrog on the PC. If the clip is visible, use Copy and normal Paste before testing a global shortcut.
- Check file size. Free and Sync allow each image and each file up to 25 MB. Pro has no per-clip size or clip-count cap.
Some work PCs restrict app installation or global shortcuts. Ask your administrator if a required permission is blocked. If the issue continues, record both app versions and the failed steps. Leave out clip contents, passwords, linking codes, and your recovery key.
Move to another PC safely
Use your signed-in phone to scan the replacement PC’s code. If no linked device is available, use the email-code and recovery-key fallback. Signing in confirms your account; the key allows the new PC to read your encrypted clips.
Pro restores retained history. Free and Sync restore the current clip. Unlink a lost PC from another linked device to stop it receiving new copies. If you switch accounts on a PC, the previous account’s history leaves that device.
An email code cannot replace the recovery key. If you lose every linked device and the key, your encrypted clips cannot be recovered. Only link PCs you control, because passwords and codes are saved exactly as copied.
Use the recovery guide before removing your last linked device.
