Know what your plan keeps
Free and Sync keep one current clip. Each new copy replaces the previous current clip on the server and your devices. This is latest-clip sync, and it does not create a searchable archive.
| Plan | What it keeps | Image and file size |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Latest clip across 2 devices | Up to 25 MB each |
| Sync · $10 once | Latest clip across 5 devices | Up to 25 MB each |
| Pro · $1.99/month or $19.99/year | 25 GB of searchable history on 10 devices while active | No per-clip size cap |
| Max · $4.99/month or $49.99/year | Everything in Pro, unlimited devices, and 100 GB of encrypted clipboard storage | No per-clip size cap |
Pro and Max save accepted clips in cloud history while active, up to each plan's storage allowance. Your latest clip stays separate from the history list. Both plans include pins and snippets.
Search for a copy you remember
- Open Pastefrog’s saved clip list with Pro or Max active.
- Search for a word from the note, link, or other content you need.
- Select a result to inspect its content and source device.
- Use Copy, then paste into the destination app.
Search and image text recognition run on your device. If the result you need is not there, check that the source device captured the copy and had a chance to reconnect.

MacBook · YesterdayPin a clip or keep reusable text
Open a saved clip’s actions and choose Pin. Use the Pinned view to find it again without searching your full history. Copy a pinned clip the same way as another saved clip, and unpin it when you no longer want it in that shorter list.
Snippets are for text you reuse. Both snippets and pins require Pro or Max and belong to paid history. Pinning something does not keep it after paid history ends.

A new copy needs an internet connection to reach another device. When a Free or Sync device reconnects, it receives the current clip. It does not receive the intermediate copies it missed.
With Pro or Max, retained history supplies every missed clip when the device reconnects. Those copies become available in history. Catching up older copies is separate from choosing the newest eligible copy for the system clipboard.
On a phone, open Pastefrog to reconnect. iOS does not guarantee a background download after a push notification, and a closed keyboard cannot capture a new copy.
Restore on a replacement device
Link the replacement with a linked device, or use an email code and your recovery key. Pro and Max can restore retained cloud history even when the old device is unavailable. Free and Sync restore the current clip.
Signing in identifies your account, but a new device also needs the encryption keys. Keep your recovery key safe. If every linked device and the key are lost, the encrypted clips cannot be recovered.
Follow the recovery guide before replacing your last linked device.
Export before paid history ends
You can export the clips your plan retains at any time, on every plan. Do this before paid history ends if you want to keep a separate copy.
If you cancel Pro or Max, history remains until the paid period ends. It is then deleted from the server and every device, including pins. If a trial ends without payment, trial history is deleted without a grace period.
A failed payment has at most 7 days of grace. History continues working and saving during that time, then is deleted if payment is not restored. Latest-clip sync continues after paid history ends. Read the plan and purchase guide for the full rules.
