Terms of use

These terms explain your responsibilities when using Pastefrog and how purchases and clip history work.

Public draft, scope, and acceptance

Last revised October 23, 2026. These draft terms cover Pastefrog's website, account service, and clipboard apps. Pastefrog is operated by an individual based in the Philippines, not a corporation. The operator's full legal name and mailing address have not yet been supplied. Contact support@pastefrog.app. The missing identity details and legal review remain launch readiness gaps.

These terms are intended to form the agreement between you and that operator when presented for acceptance. This public draft does not establish that an acceptance process or completed legal compliance is in place. If you use Pastefrog for an organization, you must have authority to accept terms for that use.

The plan and data-handling promises below are customer commitments, not confirmation that every capability is available in a current release. Current sync limits each encrypted operation to 2 MiB. Support for every advertised clip format, text recognition, export, account deletion, and deletion across all devices still require release verification. These current limits do not change the promised plan allowances or authorize withdrawal of features you purchased.

Accounts and devices

Every plan requires an account. Pastefrog captures nothing until you sign in and link the device. Use only devices and copied content you are authorized to access.

Keep your recovery key and linking codes private. Protect devices that can read your clips. Unlink a device if it is lost or no longer yours. The account guide explains recovery and account settings.

Permission to use Pastefrog and your content

Subject to these terms and your plan, the operator grants you a limited, non-exclusive permission to install and use Pastefrog on your authorized devices for personal or business work. This does not transfer ownership of Pastefrog's software or branding. Separate open-source licenses govern the code and components they cover. These terms do not reduce permissions those licenses or applicable law give you.

You retain ownership of your clips and other content. You authorize only the processing needed to capture, encrypt, transmit, store, deliver, restore, and delete your content as you direct under the service and plan rules. This is not permission to publish your clips, use them in advertising, or train AI models on them. Server-side processing of clips uses encrypted content.

Copy only content you have the right to use and process, including any personal information belonging to others. Do not use Pastefrog for unlawful activity, to infringe another person's rights, to distribute malware, to access another account without permission, or to disrupt or bypass service security and plan controls. Authorized security research and activities permitted by law or an open-source license are not prohibited merely because they involve examining the software.

Plans and purchases

Free costs $0 and links 2 devices. The $10 one-time Sync license links up to 5 devices. Both keep the latest clip only. Pro costs $1.99/month or $19.99/year and includes 25 GB of encrypted history across 10 devices, with full restore while active. Max costs $4.99/month or $49.99/year and includes everything in Pro, unlimited devices, and 100 GB of encrypted clipboard storage. Pro and Max offer a 7-day free trial on monthly and yearly subscriptions, subject to provider eligibility. Sync has no trial.

Before confirming a purchase, review the amount, currency, applicable tax, trial conditions, and renewal terms shown by your purchase provider. Manage or cancel the purchase through that provider. Read how to manage your plan.

A one-time license has no recurring payments. Your original provider's process and applicable consumer rights govern subscription billing and refund requests.

Pro and Max subscriptions renew automatically at the interval and price disclosed at checkout unless cancelled through the original provider before its renewal deadline. An eligible 7-day trial converts to the paid subscription disclosed at checkout unless cancelled before the provider's trial deadline. Review the exact charge date and cancellation instructions before starting a trial. Cancellation and a refund request are separate actions.

Price or renewal changes require advance notice and any agreement required by law and the purchase provider. They do not retroactively change a completed purchase or withdraw purchased features. See refunds and cancellation for the original-channel process.

Clips and history commitments

Free and Sync keep only the latest clip. Each new copy replaces the previous clip. These plans allow up to 25 MB per image or file.

Pro and Max have no clip-count or per-clip size cap. Pro includes 25 GB of encrypted history; Max includes 100 GB. Paid clips, pins, and snippets stay while the subscription is active. If you cancel, Pastefrog deletes history and pins when the paid period ends. If a trial ends without a paid subscription, history and pins are deleted immediately.

A failed payment has up to 7 days of grace before deletion. History keeps saving during that period. If payment is not restored in time, Pastefrog deletes history and pins. Latest-clip sync continues.

Plan-end deletion applies to the service and every linked device. Offline devices apply deletion when they reconnect. Pastefrog cannot retract clips already pasted, exported, or copied outside the app. The latest clip does not expire and continues to sync after paid history ends.

Pro's quota commitment archives affected clips first and provides 30 days' notice before deletion at 25 GB. Detailed archive behavior and the policy at Max's 100 GB allowance remain unresolved. Neither question changes the subscription-end rules.

You can export your clips at any time on every plan. Export anything you want to keep before paid history ends or you delete your account.

Privacy and access

Your devices encrypt clips end to end, so Pastefrog's servers can't read them. Your linked devices and recovery key let you access your encrypted content. If you lose every linked device and the key, you cannot recover your clips.

Clip delivery needs network access and the permissions allowed by your device. Phones read clips through the app, keyboard, and other controls described in the help guide. Read the privacy policy for more detail.

Capture starts only after sign-in, trusted linking, and required permissions. Pastefrog does not filter sensitive copies. Protect devices that can read your clips. If you enable optional assistant access, the assistant may retrieve sensitive history and send retrieved text to its provider. Revocation stops future access but cannot recall earlier retrievals.

Pastefrog never takes back a feature you paid for. Subscription features require an active subscription and continue until the paid period ends.

Purchased features are not moved to a higher tier. Any successor operator inherits this promise and Pastefrog's other customer commitments. A service shutdown and continuity policy remains undecided and must be resolved before sales.

Availability and responsibility

Network failures, maintenance, device permissions, and operating-system restrictions can interrupt capture or delivery. Pastefrog cannot promise uninterrupted service or compatibility with every device configuration. Keep an independent copy of information you cannot afford to lose and export retained clips before a known deletion event.

These practical limits do not excuse the operator from providing purchased features, honoring express promises, or meeting mandatory consumer protections. Responsibility for loss or service failures is determined by applicable law. These draft terms do not impose a fixed liability cap, a blanket warranty exclusion, or an obligation for you to indemnify the operator.

Sign-in and purchase providers apply their own terms to their services. A provider's terms do not remove the operator's responsibilities to you under applicable law or Pastefrog's promises.

Ending use and restricting access

You can stop using Pastefrog at any time. Cancel subscriptions through their original purchase channel to stop renewals. Account deletion and subscription cancellation have different effects. Under the account deletion commitment, desktop and web checkout subscriptions are cancelled with deletion, while App Store and Google Play subscriptions require cancellation in the store. Export what you need first. Email support if the deletion control is unavailable in your release.

The operator may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach, security threat, or legal requirement. Restrictions must be proportionate. Unless urgent action or law prevents it, the operator must give notice, explain the reason, and allow a reasonable opportunity to correct the issue or challenge an error through support.

A restriction does not automatically forfeit purchases or authorize deletion of your data. Access to exports, account closure, refunds, and remaining paid access must be handled under the circumstances, applicable law, and the plan's promises. Uncontested access should be preserved where safe and lawful.

Changes to these terms

Updated terms will show their revision date. Material changes require clear advance notice and any acceptance required by law. Changes do not apply retroactively to remove purchased rights, create new charges for an existing paid period, or reduce mandatory protections. You can cancel a future renewal if you do not accept its proposed terms.

Questions and consumer rights

See support for product and purchase help, or refunds to find the process for your purchase provider. These terms do not limit the consumer rights that apply where you live.

For a dispute, email support@pastefrog.app with the issue and the remedy you seek. Contacting support is not a prerequisite to exercising legal rights and does not shorten a legal deadline. These draft terms do not require arbitration, waive collective claims, or select an exclusive court or governing law. Applicable law determines the available remedies and forum until a lawful final provision is adopted.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms apply to the extent permitted by law. No provision removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
